ColorNote ("we", "us", or "the App") takes your personal information and privacy protection very seriously. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the App. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights.
1Information We Collect
To provide core features such as color season analysis and outfit recommendations, we may collect the following information:

About Color Analysis Photos: Before your first photo analysis, we provide a separate notice and ask for your explicit consent. If you agree, this and future color-analysis photos are sampled on device and uploaded by default, stripped of EXIF/location metadata, re-encoded, sent over HTTPS, and kept in private access-controlled storage for authorized result-accuracy review only. Photos remain stored until you delete the photos, their analysis records, or your account. They are linked to your analysis account so you can delete them. We do not send these photos to DeepSeek, Dreamax, or other third-party AI, and do not use them for model training, facial recognition, identity verification, or ads. You may choose “Analyze Without Saving,” turn off future retention, or delete all retained photos under Profile → Settings → Analysis Photos without deleting your results. Face-landmark, body-analysis, and color-draping processing otherwise remains on device.
About Digital Wardrobe and Shopping Wishlist (optional): Product screenshots shared to ColorNote are handed off through an App Group and analyzed only on your device. A photo is uploaded only when you choose to save the product or add a wardrobe item. Before upload, we correct orientation, limit dimensions, re-encode it, and remove EXIF/location metadata. It is sent over HTTPS to private, access-controlled storage and displayed through time-limited links. Decision and styling services receive only structured values such as category, main color, silhouette, fit score, wear count, and a random identifier; they do not receive product or clothing photos. Deleting a saved product or wardrobe item also deletes its stored image.
About Facial Data: Face-shape and facial-landmark detection run on your device. We upload only the resulting face-shape category (e.g. “oval” or “square”), not facial geometry that could identify you, and never use it for facial recognition or identity verification. If you consent to color-analysis photo retention, the full analysis photo is stored privately under the Analysis Photos rules above until you delete it and is not sent to third-party AI.
About skin-tone matching: Color analysis is mapped only to four visual matching bands — fair, medium, tan, and deep — to select outfit examples with a closer skin-depth presentation. We do not infer or record race or ethnicity. This value is deleted with analysis and account data.
About AR Try-On (TrueDepth): When you use the optional AR Try-On feature (real-time on-face preview of lipstick, blush, and colored contacts), the app uses the Apple ARKit / TrueDepth camera for real-time face tracking, solely to overlay a live virtual makeup preview on screen. This face-tracking data (face mesh / geometry) is processed in real time entirely on your device and discarded immediately afterward — we never upload, store, or share it with any third party, and we never use it for facial recognition or identity verification.
About AI Portrait Studio (optional, separate consent required): The AI Portrait Studio can generate a stylized portrait from one photo you choose. This feature is off by default and only activates after you give separate, explicit consent within the feature. When enabled: the photo you choose is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our server (private, access-controlled storage) and made available to a third-party AI image-generation service (Dreamax) via a time-limited link, solely to generate your portrait. The input photo is deleted from our server immediately after generation completes. Your photo is never used for model training, facial recognition, or identity verification. If you decline, only this feature is unavailable — everything else works normally. You can delete all your data anytime via Me → Settings → Delete Account.
2How We Use Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Providing AI color season analysis and diagnostic reports
- Generating personalized outfit suggestions based on your season type, body type, and weather
- Creating and storing your analysis history
- Sending outfit inspiration and service push notifications (can be disabled anytime)
- Verifying in-app purchases and activating Pro membership
- Reviewing color-result accuracy, investigating uncertain or mismatched results, and improving app performance and user experience
- Handling your customer service feedback
- Measuring generative-search referrals and on-site conversion events in anonymous aggregate form
We will never use your personal information for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the above.

Note: When you use the AI Personalized Report or AI Consultant features, we send your color analysis data (color values, season type) and profile preferences (such as gender, age range, and style) to DeepSeek to generate suggestions. We never send your photos or face images. These features require your explicit in-app consent before use.
4Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on cloud servers in mainland China, protected by Tencent Cloud security systems.
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.
- Server access is protected by strict authentication and access control.
- After explicit consent, color-analysis photos are retained privately by default until you delete the photos, their analysis records, or your account; you can turn off future retention or delete retained photos immediately. System-share and purchase-check photos are discarded after on-device sampling; images you explicitly save or add remain private until deletion; AI Portrait Studio inputs are deleted immediately after generation.
- After account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days (except where required by law).
5Your Rights
In accordance with applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights:
- Right of Access: You can view your stored personal information in "Profile → Personal File" within the App.
- Right to Rectification: You can modify your personal profile information at any time within the App.
- Right to Erasure: You can delete all retained photos under Profile → Settings → Analysis Photos without deleting results. You can also delete wardrobe items, analysis history, or your account and all data.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Under Profile → Settings, you can turn off future photo retention, change the weather city, or disable notifications, and you can revoke camera or notification permission in device settings.
- Right to Object to Automated Decisions: AI season analysis is automated processing. You may choose not to use this feature and only browse outfit suggestions.
6Protection of Minors
This App is intended for users aged 14 and above. We do not actively collect personal information from children under 14. If you are a minor, please use the App with parental supervision. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, it will be deleted.
7Cookies & Local Storage
This App uses device local storage (App Storage) to save your login status, season profile, weather cache, and other information for faster loading. This data is stored only on your device. You can clear all local data by uninstalling the App.
8Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy due to changes in laws, regulations, or feature updates. For significant changes, we will notify you via in-app popup or push notification. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. You can view the latest version under "Profile → Privacy Policy" in the App.
